Located in the Anbar province in the western part of the country it is completely inhabited by Sunni Muslims. It is strategically located on the Amman-Baghdad road and the Kirkuk-Haifa oil pipeline. It has also been described as, “the most isolated town of any size in Iraq.” Starting in 2014 there has been much fighting in this region between ISIS, the locals, the Iraqi army, the coalition air force, and even the Syrian air force.

“Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.” 1 Peter 3:11

Lord, this isolated land that is full of conflict desperately needs their eyes open to You. In an area of no known believers, we ask that You would send dreams and visions and that we would hear stories similar to Paul's vision on the road to Damascus. Lord, bring peace to this land in a way that the locals will be in awe of who Jesus is. Let them come to know You as the Prince of Peace.
