Qu'im sits on the Syrian border along the Euphrates River. It was under the control of ISIS from 2014-2017. Due to its border crossing with Syria, Qu’im was a strategic city during the Iraq War and the ISIS conflict. Many of the nomadic Bedouin population live in the province of Anbar where Qu’im is located, and they often camp outside of this city.
"When He saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless,
like sheep without a shepherd." Matthew 9:36
Lord, the people of this city are helpless and harassed. They are like sheep without a shepherd. They have never heard the Good News that Jesus is the Good Shepherd. The Bedouin take care of sheep for their living, Lord, so open their eyes to see that You desire to care of them in a greater way than they care for their own sheep. You, Lord, want to give them life and life abundantly through Your Son. Send someone to tell them the wondrous News that Jesus is the Good Shepherd.
